St Andrews Links - Eden Course

Scotland, East Coast, Fife Region, St Andrews
4.8 (6)
Designer: Harry S. Colt
Course Opened: 1914

Harry Colt designed the terribly enjoyable Eden Course at St Andrews in 1914. Set beside the town's famous Old Course, the Eden features a bright start and terrific duel par threes at the 5th and 8th, played from the same tees to great greens cut either side of a rough hillock.

The greens early on here are very good, but the biggest drawback is the driving holes, particularly through the middle to late part of the round where many fairways are wide open, dull and generally arranged with a single line of defense. For modern bombers or solid hitters, it's often possible to drive over all the trouble here without risk or appropriate excitement.

Touching the Eden Estuary and often featuring views of the Auld Grey Toon, the Eden Course at St Andrews is a fun place to enjoy a true links without too much stress.
